About Us
Inspired Home & Flower Studio opened the summer of 2007 and is the culmination of nine years of dedicated work and evolution. Owners Brian Schneider and Tom Quanrud moved from their long time home in Minneapolis to Red Wing, Minnesota in 1998 to start a new business venture in the historic downtown district, a coffee house and flower shop called Lily's Coffee House & Flowers. After two expansions and the acquisition of the building next to Lily's, Brian and Tom felt it was time to go back to their roots and create a new business built around their somewhat latent passions and earlier professional training in interior design, floral design and education.
And so Inspired Home & Flower Studio was created, an interior design studio, flower shop and learning studio. Brian offers interior design services, with a special emphasis on window treatments and home accessories. The fresh flower facet of the business that was originally part of Lily's Coffee House has now become integrated into Inspired. We offer professionally designed floral arrangements, wedding flower consultation services, cash & carry fresh flowers for you to arrange at home or leave the arranging up to us and we'll do local delivery. The learning studio will give both Brian and Tom the opportunity to offer classes to customers on fresh and silk flower arranging and interior design basics. The new learning studio space will also allow Tom to continue to grow his Spanish language program started a few years ago at Lily's Coffee House. Class offerings will continue to expand from beginning levels through advanced.
During the past eleven years in Red Wing Brian has worked with several clients on a variety of interior design projects, including the complete renovation of a historically significant home. Brian received his degree in Interior Design from Alexandria Technical College. He worked at a design firm in St. Cloud for five years before moving to Minneapolis to start his own business in 1995. After working with many residential and commercial clients, including the Hilton Hotel and the Mendakota Country Club in
St. Paul, Brian began expanding his business to include fresh flower work for social events and weddings. To develop his natural talent, Brian worked part time with two flower shops
and continued his interior design business.
After receiving his B.A. in Personnel Services and B.S. in
Spanish Education from Moorhead State University, Tom
taught Spanish at the high school level for seven years in a Minneapolis school district and then three years at a privately-owned and operated language school for adults near the
